What To Be On The Lookout For When Buying Designer Watches
How to Choose a Designer Watch
Designer watches can make a big difference in a person's wardrobe. They can be high quality timepieces, fashion accessories and even investments, as good watches never lose their value. Whether you want one for yourself or as a gift for someone, the following guide will help you shop for designer watches.
If you are shopping for designer watches, your budget is the first thing you have to consider, as the price ranges for watches are enormous. Prices for real designer watches can be from the couple hundred dollars range to many thousands. At the higher end, there really is no limit to how much a watch can be worth, as some even sell for millions! Fortunately, you don't have to be wealthy to find a good watch, but you do have to start out with an idea of what your budget is. If you come across watches that look top notch but are really cheap, be certain they are the literal designer watches and not imitations.
When opting for designer watches, you'll need to figure out what kind of power you want it to use. The majority of watches today use cell batteries, which are tiny, powerful and long lasting, though they do need to be replaced at some point. You can still find manual winding watches, which is how all watches used to be made. People who prefer a historic or out-of-date look are more attracted to this option. You can also discover solar powered watches, which function with photovoltaic cells. These watches are operated by batteries, which never need to be replaced, they simply need to exposed to sunlight for a few minutes to operate for many days or even weeks. You can even discover kinetic powered watches that function from the motion of your arm. You can find designer watches that use all these different power sources.
Designer watches are usually well made, but the durability of different watches varies, depending on the material used in their construction. You'll find designer watches made of various metals. Think about platinum if you are looking for scratch resistance and durability at the same time. Titanium watches, meanwhile, are very durable but they will scratch if you aren't careful. The type of material you choose when shopping for designer watches will depend on your lifestyle and what you plan to be doing when wearing the watch.
You should do lots of shopping when searching for a designer watch, so you get a greater idea of what you favor and what various watches cost. Even if you end up purchasing a watch from a retail store, it is helpful to first look at several of them online. Due to the fact that designer watches are an investment, you'll need to be really careful at making your selection and keeping the above hints in mind when conducting your research.

Frequently Asked Questions...
If you were a fragrance designer, how would 'gold' smell?
Say the client said to make the perfume smell 'gold' which of course gold has no smell but instead wants to give the feeling of the richness of gold. What would the notes be in the perfume? I think it should be a warm top note, almost buttery but with a rich sweetness following. How about silver? Clean, crisp, cool, almost like citrus? Copper? Platinum?
Answer:
Gold: I think you hit the nail on the head with the idea of it smelling buttery. What came to my mind was warm and creamy, with some spices like cinnamon, cardamom, maybe a bit of cumin, and flowers like gardenia or some types of lily which are heavily-scented (the word "heady" is often used to describe them). I think of things with warm scents. Maybe a bit of musk.
Silver: Cool, calm, watery (as in liquid or fluid, transparent, not weak or watered down) and smooth, such as some of the lighter, more delicate floral scents like freesia, tulip, violet, daffodil but you wouldn't want it to be all light scents only, you need something to give it coolness to balance it out. Maybe some myrrh, a *tiny* bit of mint. I have a scent in my mind of calmness, something cool and blue, but only lightly so. I personally don't see citrus, but that's just me, I don't like citrus in my fragrances.
As for copper, everyone here has already covered that exceptionally well:-) Not sure about platinum.
