All boarding Iron Maiden's Flight 666 at Odeon Kensington
The 20th of April will see the London premier of Rockumentary 'Iron Maiden:Flight 666', filmed by Samm Dunn of 'metal: a headbanger's journey' fame.Iron Maiden will be at the premier along with Maiden's special 7th member, their zombie mascot Eddie.
The film shows the band on the first leg of 2008's Somewhere back in time tour, where the band flew on their very own plane 'Ed force one', to do gigs abroad, which was flown by Maiden frontman and registered pilot Bruce Dickinson. 2008's tour saw the band go back 20 years, playing material from the classic 1984 Powerslave set, hailed then and now as one of the best tours ever. That tour lasted for a good few years, which nearly sent the band mad, but it was worth it -i think so anyway.
Flight 666 has already won the 24 beats per secong award at the South by South West festival in Texas for best musical documentary. The movie is also being shown (hopefully) at an odoen cinema near you on April 21st, for one night only but in 42 different countries. The film will be released for general thrashing from May 25th on DVD and Blue Ray -for anyone unlucky enough not to make it down to either screening. Which admittedly, for anyone missing the show, may seem like a long time. The movie's soundtrack is also being released, with live tracks from the tour dates featured on the movie -which can be brought on CD or vinyl on the same date.
The premier takes place in the UK on Monday 20th April, at the Odeon Kensington cinema at 7pm. Need a venue for your London events or events? Go no further.
