The Wonders of Label Printers
Label printers are designed just like any other computer printer and they act the same too. The only difference is that label printers print on materials specially designed for printed labels such as self-adhesive, stickers, card-stock, paper, synthetic polymer, etc. They have been produced with unique feed mechanisms to handle rolled or fanfold stocks. It’s like printing in a much fancier paper rather than the traditional white paper we’re so used to.
Custom labels which are modified according to customer preferences can either be printed as laser labels or thermal labels.
Laser labels are produced using a heating process to transfer toners to laser sheets. These laser sheets are composed of non-porous materials made to endure the intense heat coming from laser printers.
Thermal labels are the most common type of labels but also fade away the fastest. Thermal printers do not need a high temperature as the laser printers which make it possible to use more options for label materials and adhesives in the market. Durability is not its strongest point because any other source of heat can gradually damage the label.
Labels can actually be created and printed in a lot of ways and the above-mentioned types are the ones most likely to be used. You can go for laser or thermal or any other types of labels as long as it can be of benefit to your business and company as well. Still, the decision is in the customers hands. They’re not called Custom Labels for nothing.
