Naples GMC Acadia dealers fascinated by new hydrogen fueling plans
Ever since the recession kicked in, the landscape of the auto industry has been evolving ever so quickly. One of the most important developments that Naples GMC Sierra Hybrid dealers will point to is the innovation we've been finding in terms of engine technology. Fuel economy is getting better and emissions are decreasing, both helping consumers save money on gas and reducing our environmental footprint. Naples GMC Acadia dealers are getting in on the fun and innovation too. It's true that the recession hit GM harder than a lot of other automakers on the market, but the company is doing its best to bounce back into the industry and regain the notoriety it once had.
In fact, General Motors is partnering with The Gas Company (based in Hawaii) to launch the first hydrogen fueling infrastructure in the U.S. For Naples GMC Sierra Hybrid dealers, we won't be seeing the launch of a program like this for awhile, but it's a good thing we're doing a pilot program to see what kind of success it will have. The Gas Company itself is a producer of synthetic natural gas (SNG) and hydrogen for many years, distributing the products through an island pipeline network. The network itself is blended with five percent hydrogen but they expect that number will increase as more hydrogen is needed. Hey Naples: GMC Acadia drivers are right on the technology curve, offering vehicles that will lead the market over the coming years.
As part of the new pilot project, a network consisting of as many as 25 hydrogen filling stations on Oahu tap directly into the pipeline network, helping to refill drivers to most drivers within 10 minutes of the refueling stations. It's a grand experiment to undertake and one that Naples GMC Sierra Hybrid dealers hope might spawn a nationwide movement towards adopting hydrogen power for drivers. We don't know exactly what will happen in the end, but the chances are looking good that GM is at least forging forward in a generally progressive area that has just as much potential for reducing us to zero emissions as other areas, like electric cars. Naples GMC Acadia dealers are most definitely on the cutting-edge of the industry, so never fear.
According to the press release, "We have been delivering as much as 12 percent hydrogen made from renewable sources to our gas customers over the last two to three years and expect we can deliver even greater quantities of hydrogen as demand increases," said Jeffrey Kissel, president and CEO of TGC. "By delivering hydrogen through our existing infrastructure as vehicle fuel wherever we have gas, The Gas Company expands its key role of supporting Hawaii's clean energy future."
So remember, the future of fuel technology is only right around the corner. If it wasn't for adventurous automakers like GM, we would have no hope of reaching zero emissions and eliminating our effects on the environment. We're not far now from the future, and GM will be at the forefront of the fuel technology movement.
