where can i take my plastic bottles and bags, paper, etc to be recycled in Atlanta/Sandy Springs GA?
I feel like it's a waste to throw away so many blastic bottles and bags and junk mail and stuff

You can use the North Fulton Recycling Center (link below) on Morgan Falls Rd, which is off Roswell Rd just south of Pitts Rd. I believe they take cans, bottles, newspapers, etc without a fee. Call to make sure, though.
Also below is the link to the Fulton Cty website, which lists a few recycling centers. The North Fulton Center seems like the best bet for you.
As for plastic bags (assuming you mean grocery bags), why not reuse them? We use them as garbage bags in our little waste baskets. Some folks reuse them when grocery shopping instead of getting new bags every trip. Publix does take them for recycling, though. Also, Home Depot takes old batteries (including old lithium and ni-cad batteries).
